Pangandaran Beach

Pangandaran Beach is an exotic beach located on the southern coast of Java and is a popular tourist destination, considered to be one of Java's finest beaches. The excellent surfing opportunity offered by this sun kissed beach has made it a favorite holiday spot for surfers from around the globe as well as local tourists.
Pangandaran Beach is actually named after a small fishing village of the same name that nestles near the border of Central Java, 223 km SE of Bandung and a 5-6 hour drive. With the velvet blue waters of the Indian Ocean lapping up the village from al sides, this is a perfect coastal getaway for everyone. The only advice is that for those who love swimming should take great care when swimming especially at the East-beach.
Apart from housing one of the finest beach of Indonesia, Pangandaran is also home to the Pangandaran national Park, home of hundreds "Long-tail Macaque", Wild buffalo, Barking deer and other few species of animal. Lore Lindu National Park

Located on the beautiful yet complex looking rift valleys and steep folds of the mountains in the central part of Sulawesi, Lore Lindu National Park covers an area of 568,000 acres (217,000 hectares). The park is considered as a safe home to all the endangered mammal species of Sulawesi. Some of the mammals that constitute the family of the animals in the park are:

  • Lake Toba

    Bohorok Orangutan Viewing Centre

    Sumatra, in Indonesia, is a natural reserve and forest land with acres and acres of forests, and woods, and a large variety of wildlife, avian life, flora and fauna. And, this aspect of Sumatra is an attractive option for tourists, especially those who love nature, and would like to spend time in the wilderness while on a vacation. One such attractive spot that attracts people is the Bohorok Orang-utan Viewing Centre.
    Located just outside Bukit Lawang Gunung Leuser National Park, in Sumatra, the Bohorok Orang-utan Viewing Centre is about 90 kms from Medan. The Bohorok Orang-utan Viewing Centre is a famous rehabilitation centre that was set up in 1973, by two Swiss zoologists, Regina Frey and Monica Boerner, to help primates to get readjusted to the wild after confinement or dislocation.
    The orangutans of Sumatra are an endangered species, with loss of habitat, and poaching pushing them towards extinction. The Bohorok Orang-utan Viewing Centre is an effort to preserve and save these animals that are quickly dying out. After it was opened in 1973, with funding coming from the Frankfurt Zoological Society (FZS) and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the Bohorok Orang-utan Viewing Centre has seen almost 200 orangutans released into the wilderness.
    The Bohorok Orang-utan Viewing Centre is a center where a visitor can closely watch semi-wild orangutans, where they are being trained to return to their native habitat after being freed from captivity. In 2002, a new quarantine centre was set up outside Medan, as an additional facility with the Bohorok Orang-utan Viewing Centre. As this center, named Bukit Lawang Centre became operational, the Bohorok Orang-utan Viewing Centre has been restricted to be the home of old and sick orangutans.

    Mount Rinjani

    Mount Rinjani or Gunung Rinjani in Lombok, Indonesia is an active volcano. This majestic mountain rises to a staggering height of 3,726 m (12,224 ft), making it the third-largest volcano in Indonesia.
    The first historical eruption of Mount Rinjani occurred in September of 1847. Most recently, Mount Rinjani spewed its lava on 1 October 2004. The volcano of Mount Rinjani when not ready to culminate is a site of scenic beauty with its spectacular Segara anak Crater Lake, protected by a national park established in 1997. The oval-shaped caldera is 6 km by 8.5 km in dimension and filled partially by a lake known as Segara Anak. The eruptions of 1994, 1995, and 1996 have formed a small cone in the center of the caldera and lava flows from these eruptions have entered the lake.
    Mount Rinjani offers one of the best treks in South East Asia, where the hikers can climb up to its lush forest clad highlands, largely underdeveloped. The lowlands of Mount Rinjani are highly cultivated. Rice, soybeans, coffee, tobacco, cotton, cinnamon, and vanilla are the major crops grown in the fertile soils of the island.
